Joanna Daly is Vice President, Compensation and Benefits for IBM. In this role, she has global responsibility for the design and delivery of compensation and benefits offerings in addition to HR Business Development and Corporate Health and Safety. She architected IBM’s Return to the Workplace plan for COVID-19 globally and leads the ongoing senior leadership pandemic response taskforce.
Joanna has served in a number of leadership roles in Human Resources in IBM. Prior to leading Compensation and Benefits, Joanna was the Vice President, Talent, with global responsibility for talent acquisition, people analytics, AI strategy for Human Resources, employee experience, performance management, and careers & skills. She was the Vice President Human Resources for Industry Platforms and Blockchain, a new IBM business launched in 2016 to improve industry business processes with AI, cloud, and blockchain technologies. She has led the Compensation organization where she was responsible for the design and deployment of salary, bonus, and equity compensation plans to more than 350,000 employees globally, and where she introduced a number of innovative approaches including an AI salary plan advisor. She spent 4 years in Europe as Vice President Human Resources for Global Business Services, with responsibility for human resources for a multi-billion dollar consulting business across more than 20 European countries. She has also held HR and Compensation leadership roles based in Singapore covering the Asia-Pacific region and in Bangalore, India.
Joanna is a frequent speaker at conferences and in media on AI in HR, diversity and inclusion, skills, and the future of work. She holds an MBA from Syracuse University and is a Certified Compensation Professional.
